RVLVR

rvlvr

RVLVR is an experimental project consisting of different artists using at least one of the same given picture material to create new artworks, totaly free in their concept, topic or technique. I was involved in something similar bloody ages ago with Australian Infront when I was young enough to be submitting to NOISE. Great concept and it always yields amazing results…
There are some really talented people involved in this project. Put together by Marek Haiduk

This is an old shot of a trip to the Blue Mountains west of Sydney a few years back. I woke up to find our old curtains filtered with beautiful morning light.

I love concrete carparks. Most people would call them soulless, empty ugly places, but I love looking for the beauty in the bleak lines and often mono colours. This is from my carpark series.

is the studio and portfolio of Chris Ro. Chris is a graphic designer currently located in New York. He finds very much delight in all that can be classified as extremely complex yet ultimately, very simple. He enjoys the occasional blending of two dimensions with three dimensions. Currently on a quest to find that which is that, you may find Chris in great love with fine typography, tinkering with some experimental photography or consuming the west coast burrito.

I especially love his winners society project. It takes me back to when I first started throwing type and design over photos, but Chris does it like nothing else. Simply amazing work!

Sydney dust storm

I had a pretty funny feeling something was a little different this morning when I woke up and looked outside… Turns out Sydney was swallowed by a crazy dust storm that covered almost half of NSW.
Check out some awesome shots from this mornings mayhem.

Dan McPharlin

Ive been listening to a bit of Prefuse 73 lately, and only just discovered the artist behind some of the recent cover artwork. I was pleasantly surprised to discover he is an Ozzie living in Adelaide, and creating some really unique work.

Taken from his interview with Australian Edge:
Dan McPharlin creates abstract imagery depicting space travel and exploration of distant worlds, reminiscent of 70’s science fiction art. Dan also builds miniature analogue synths and audio equipment – hand-crafted from cardboard. His work has been on the cover of Wallpaper, and most recently as album artwork for Prefuse 73.”
